Risks and investment protection
Investing in Ukraine in wartime is risky, but those risks can be allocated between the parties and partly insured. Below are the tools DFIs and private investors use. EUROBRIDGE is not an insurer and does not guarantee cover.
War and security risks
What every project discloses
The project owner describes security risks and mitigation measures. In the Score they correspond to indicator D3 “Security risks”: regional profile, insurance, phasing.
- Regional risk profile and proximity to the combat zone — as reported by the project owner
- Existing or planned war and political-risk insurance
- Phasing: funding in tranches against completed stages
- Recovery plans and fallback scenarios
Insurance
Political and war-risk insurance
Cover is offered by specialist providers. Its availability, terms and price are set deal by deal. EUROBRIDGE does not provide insurance, does not broker it and does not assess risk on the investor’s behalf.
MIGA
The Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (World Bank Group): guarantees against political risks, including war and restrictions on currency conversion and transfer.
DFC
The U.S. International Development Finance Corporation: political-risk insurance and financing for investors who meet its requirements.
Export credit agencies
National ECAs in investors’ home countries offer guarantees and insurance for export and investment projects.
EU programmes
Guarantee and blended-finance mechanisms under the European Union’s Ukraine Investment Framework.

How parties reduce risk in a deal
Escrow
Funds can be held in an escrow account at the partner bank or another licensed bank, never on the platform.
Partner bank for escrow: МТБ Банк (MTB Bank). Funds never reach EUROBRIDGE accounts.
For deals in other countries the parties may choose another licensed bank.

Law and arbitration
Governing law and dispute resolution, including international arbitration, are agreed by the parties with their own counsel. PPP projects follow the legislation of the project’s country.
Currency and repatriation
Amounts are shown in the project’s currency. Currency risk, payment indexation and the ability to repatriate returns should be verified in due diligence, taking into account the FX rules of the project’s country.
Event log
The Legal Event Log records when the parties agreed and to which version of the documents.
Integrity
Integrity and neutrality
Organisations and their beneficial owners are sanctions-screened, key actions are written to an append-only log, and documents are visible only to deal parties. PPP private-partner tenders are run by the public partner under the law — EUROBRIDGE has no influence on the outcome. Suspicious activity can be reported via the contact form.
What EUROBRIDGE does and does not do
It does
- Shows each project’s verification level and discloses the risks the project owner reports
- Provides deal-workflow tools: request, NDA, Deal Room, LOI / Term Sheet
- Records key events in an append-only log
- Runs sanctions screening of organisations and beneficial owners
It does not
- Insure, guarantee cover or assess risk on the investor’s behalf
- Hold or transfer funds
- Give investment, legal or tax advice
- Take part in a PPP tender or influence its outcome
